Wine Advocate-Parker: The 2015 Camensac is medium garnet-purple colored with warm red and black currants on the nose with a waft of potpourri and dried herbs.
The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with red berries flavors and an earthy finish.
Color: At tasting, the Chateau de Camensac 2015 presents a clear, radiant, deep garnet colour.
Tasting Nose: One can first smell cherry and cedar aromas. With swirling, we can then note black pepper, fresh rose and mineral fragrances.
Palate: On the palate, the attack is frank and supple. There are gray tobacco, mineral and slight vanilla wood flavours. The cherry and mint aromas from the palate are long-lasting. To be enjoyed between 2020 and 2045.
About the Winery:
Château de Camensac covers 150 hectares, 86 of which are in production. The rest is woodland and meadows where lambs, ewes and sheep graze. Each plot benefits from meticulous care adapted to its profile. Each vine is an individual on which more than fifteen manual and mechanical operations are carried out over the course of the year: it could be called a ‘’luxury vineyard‘’!
The style of their wines is well explained by the vine's location and the micro-climate, with mild winters and hot summers but which is oceanic, favoring healthy growth and well-ripened grapes, combined with a deep gravel terroir, brought by the river (Villafranchian and Gunzian gravel).
