About the Winery:
Chateau Doisy-Vedrines, some of whose buildings date back to the 16th century, takes its name from the Knights of Vedrines who were its historic owners until the middle of the 19th century when the Castéja family acquired the estate. This Sauternes Classified Growth of 1855 is distinguished by the rich and sweet style of its wines, which are made to age and flourish wonderfully over the years. Situated in the Barsac terroir, the Doisy-Vedrines vineyard is planted in a beautiful outcropping of Haut-Barsac, with soils composed of clay-limestone and shallow fine gravel, all based on a limestone plateau. The 27-hectare vineyard, all in one piece - whose vines are more than 35 years old -is home to vines of Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle and Semillon. For this 2019 vintage, the harvest at Chateau Doisy-Vedrines took place from September 24 to October 18, at a rate of 3 sortings carried out, each one week apart.
